Robert Winters, MD
Dr. Robert Winters completed an Infectious Disease Fellowship at The New York Hospital, Cornell University after completing an Internal Medicine residency at the State University of New York, Stony Brook. He has been board-certified in Infectious Diseases since 1992 with a private practice in Santa Monica, California. He has treated thousands of patients at his two local hospitals: Providence-St. John’s Health Center and Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Winters is a past Chairman of the Infection Control Department at both hospitals and has been the Co-Chairman of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee at Providence-St. Johns Health Center since 2013. He is also the Medical Director for Westside Travel Medicine and Immunizations, Inc., a clinic dedicated to preparing people for international travel and caring for them following their return. He has offered his analysis and medical opinions on television (NBC 4 News and FOX 11 News), multiple newspapers, (Los Angeles Times and the Santa Monica Outlook), radio (640-AM KFI) and multiple podcasts (Truth Be Told, War Room, and Debra Kobylt-Live). Dr. Winters also serves as a medical expert and has offered his medical opinion in court on numerous occasions.
Robert Winters, MD has over twenty-five years experience preparing travelers for their international destinations as well as identifying and treating travel-related illnesses upon their return. Dr. Winters understands that “a healthy traveler is a happy traveler” and strives to ensure that each patient receives the proper medical risk assessment and management prior to travel. He now brings his medical expertise to help others better understand the COVID-19 pandemic.
